For my precious few amazingly awesome subscribers, please update your readers/feeds/whatever you call it. I’ll be updating the link on my website soon as well (possibly adding a link to the front page. We’ll see…)

The December 2010 issue of Builder+Architect Magazine is all about Seattle’s floating homes and features the Ryan Mankoski designed and Dyna Contracting built floating home that I photographed for them earlier this year.
I’ve also got a full page ad running on the inside cover of the magazine that I think turned out really nice. For this first iteration of the ad I wanted to keep things simple and let the image do the talking:

I’ve got a nice photo spread in the new Fall 2010 issue of the “Northwest” edition of LUXE Interiors + Design Magazine.
The project is an impressive downtown Seattle penthouse remodel done by interior designer Gregory Carmichael, architect Richard Sundberg and built by Schultz | Miller. It’s always interesting to see how others end up arranging and cropping your images for a layout. Often times a creative crop by a photo editor reveals a “new” image hidden within the original. I really like how they put it all together….
The issue is on the newsstands now. Be sure to pick up a copy and support the cause! 😉

The new 2010 Sutherland Furniture Catalog has arrived, hot off the presses and features a number of images that I have shot for them over the years.
I enjoyed flipping through this catalog in particular because there are a number of images (some taken more than three years ago) that I have never really seen in print.
The shot above of Philippe Starck intensely scrutinizing a prototype design was taken in 2007. I had the pleasure of documenting (on three occasions over the course of a year) his collaboration with David Sutherland as they produced his “Robinwood Deluxe” collection for Sutherland. It was a fascinating experience as Starck is a revered figure in the design world and has to be one of the most interesting and energetic persons I have ever met.
He also has the smoothest, coolest French accent ever: Philippe Starck TED Talk
Some more images from the catalog:

The update/minor re-vamp of aaronleitz.com, the definitive source for exquisite interior and architectural photography for Seattle area architects and designers, is done and the new site is up and running. At first glance it appears that things haven’t changed much from the older site but a closer look reveals some important tweaks (at least I think so).
Second, the navigation has been updated and made more user friendly. The preview thumbnails are larger and the viewer has four ways to navigate through the images:
* clicking on a thumbnail image
* “previous” and “next” buttons
* using the arrow keys on the keyboard
* clicking on the left or the right side of the image
Last but not least….I’ve added some fabulous new interior images to the gallery. I was torn between whether I should put all the new portfolio images at the front or mixed in with the “older” images. I decided to mix them in with the rest for now. I’ve got some more images that I’m excited to put up but will have to wait due to upcoming publication (hopefully soon…)

In between all the shooting and post processing I’ve been doing in the past month I have also been trying to put together a relatively large promotional mailer to send to people that I want to work with. For this first round I have decided to keep it simple: Sending a handful of 8×12 prints.
For the prints I have been using White House Custom Color and have been very happy with their prices, quality and consistency. They also have a really slick ordering application that makes ordering and uploading a snap. And every order includes a Charms lollipop in the box FOR FREE! Nice.
I am also making some changes to the website and the new version should be up and running in the next week or two.
